For nearly 30 years he was practicing politics. Some believe that the next election will end the power of the present administration but some are still less convinced that the president may be toppled down in the coming election. It is true that nothing is impossible but than, the focus and the will plays a big role. There is a way for anything and everything, provided if there is a strong will. An ambition, faith and certainly a focus. But when he is too big to fail, there aren’t much choice but invest energy in gaining solid grounds that build ethical and sensible rivalry. In doing so we should also take time to wonder how he built the empire and became the king when most of us remained in comfort. Or how he did it when most struggled to tie up with their status qua. We have the fear of the unknown. And thats very much an attribute of being a human being. This week we are hearing a case that remained a mystery for seven long years and still. Air Maldives…! no Maldivian knows where it has landed. And it will not bring us any surprise even if we loose another US$35mil or more for the Research and Development alone, to find out where the plane landed? Court cases are delayed maybe till we have sufficient funds from the banks. Some may call this corruption while the elite in the politics enjoy the puzzle. The best thing is, this company was created by numerologists. Probably you and I don’t know this. If it had any connection with sea level rise and aviation business, we could have made the right decision and succeeded. And it bring us no surprises because we, in any case, don’t have enough landing stripes for the kind of aircrafts Malaysian Helicopters delivered us. By the way we may still recall, that fantastic attempt to fix an aircraft wheel on a wheel borrow.
Think about it. All these years you have been raising your voice everywhere, about all of us drowning into the deep and dark Indian Ocean. You are so good to promote this bitter but real danger. It maybe true that we are the victims of the bias global economy ruled by capitalist empires who leave no coin unturned. Wise man!! You leave no doubt to think you are trying to create a legacy and show the world that you really are concerned of our fragile environment? It’s all about ‘promises’ and ‘free packages’ these days. Books and pencils for children, Cambridge fees for today and maybe Hajj expanses tomorrow. What is the limit Mr. President?. You have been so kind and generous for all these years. Your wisdom is powerful and you maybe wondering if you quit power or cut-off from ruling the country, this country may be submerged into the ocean way before your prediction on ‘sea level’ rise.
Very few people on earth can show dreams while still awake. For now it is all about gifts. Or is this a beginning to see an ‘‘All Inclusive Maldives’’ for all the citizens.
