Tourism Expansion in the Maldives: Sustainable Development? A Sustainable Failure? Underwater Hotels – a big time to the Maldives..
Aug 27

The recent move by the MTPB, initiating a photography contest under the theme ”think tourism” is undoubtedly an opportunity for creative Maldivians to display their talent of photography . This is what they call the ‘’sunny side in frames”an innovative concept to store the addicting beauty of the Maldives.

In fact the trend of photography is booming and popular among the youth of this country. Recently a friend of mine opened his blog calling it ”Maldives in still mode” storing his perception of what this paradise is all about. Like him so many youth has their own accounts to display the fascinating beauty of this island paradise.

“Think Tourism” is an initiation of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation to create awareness and educate the local communities about the tourism industry and its benefits as the country experiences expansion of Tourism to all regions of the archipelago.

Congratulations MTPB keep that up…! but it will be great if you can invite the industry to sponsor this event as the prizes for the winners should be higher than now. This is one of its kind event and the term “think tourism” is broad and indeed linked to the blood stream of our economy. Thus an event of this nature should be valued by all the stakeholders. The winner should get a bigger price!
